Recently I read a blog by one of my classmates on the state of Georgia and approximately 20 other states that have began to petition to segregate themselves from the United States of America.
Below was a hilarious cartoon published in the "Atlanta Journal-Constitution" by Mike Luckovich regarding the request for petition.
Only question I have is: Why are you leaving (petitioning)? The petition details are very vague as it quotes the Declaration of Independence and indicates that the petition is brought on from issues involving: Civil rights and Liberties, Government Reform and Human Rights; as well as they would like to create a "new" government.
Well if you want out so bad, leave, but they should go out and find available land that has not been claimed, and began there own country, with their "new" government.
The petition can be viewed by clicking here.
This is quite interesting to me as well. It also seems we read the same blog. Even more have requested to do so since that blog was requested. As bad as things may seem in this country sometimes, I honestly believe there is no greater country in the world. Our nation has truly been blessed and this seems a bit drastic to me.
